Compensation Details:  Starting Pay - $34,424.00

Work Hours: Monday - Friday 8:00am – 5:00pm; Flexibility is required, as occasional evening and weekend hours may be necessary based on department needs

Job Summary:

Reporting to the assigned campus leader, the Student Development Assistant is responsible for providing assistance in the total clerical functions of the department to include data entry, student assistance, transcript evaluation, and degree planning and graduation procedures.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

Essential Performance Requirements*
Assists in the evaluation of student transcripts
Inputs transfer work and degree plan course substitutions in the computer
Maintains student records and files
Orders, receives and files transcripts
Receives visitors and answers phone
Processes time cards and keeps appropriate records
Screens students for degree plans and advisement appointments
Files degree plans and other official documents
Maintains budget records and prepares reports
Explains graduation procedures

Service Excellence
Attends the workplace regularly, reports to work punctually, and follows a work schedule to keep up with the demands of the worksite
Completes all required training and professional development sessions sponsored through Tarrant County College (TCC)
Supports the mission, values, goals, and principles of the College

Supervision
Works under the general supervision of the appropriate campus leader

*Performs Other Related Tasks as Required

Required Minimum Qualifications:

High School diploma or General Equivalency Diploma (GED)
One (1) year's working experience related to the Essential Performance Requirements
One (1) year of experience providing service to the public


Preferred Qualifications:

Associate's degree
At least one (1) year of experience working with students with accessibility needs

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Skilled in excellent customer service and interpersonal relationships
Skilled using computer applications and enterprise systems, including word processing, spreadsheet, and presentation software
Skilled in organizing and managing daily tasks

While performing the duties of this job, the employee occasionally works near moving mechanical parts and is occasionally exposed to risk of electrical shock. The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet.
