Job Summary:
Reporting to the Director of Financial Aid, the Financial Aid Assistant is responsible for serving as the primary receptionist for current and prospective students for the Financial Aid Office and assisting students with applying for and understanding how to receive financial aid.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
Essential Performance Requirements*
Greets current and prospective students in the Financial Aid Office, directing requests and questions to the appropriate party
Provides financial aid application guidance to students, including the process once financial aid has been approved and distributed
Files financial aid records and reports, posts information to records, sorts and distributes mail, copies documents, answers telephone and performs similar duties
Computes amounts and checks totals on various financial aid reconciliation reports
Inputs and retrieves financial aid information in connection with the responsibilities of serving financial aid students
Service Excellence
Attends the workplace regularly, reports to work punctually, and follows a work schedule to keep up with the demands of the worksite
Completes all required training and professional development sessions sponsored through Tarrant County College (TCC)
Supports the mission, values, goals, and principles of the College
Supervision
Works under the general supervision of the Director of Financial Aid
*Performs Other Related Tasks as Required

Required Minimum Qualifications:
High School diploma or General Equivalency Diploma (GED)
One (1) year's working experience in supporting and serving customers
Preferred Qualifications:
At least one year's working experience providing customer service in an office environment
At least one year's working experience in a college or university setting related to the Essential Performance Requirements
Bilingual in Spanish and English written and verbal
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Knowledge of higher education and college financial aid programs
Skilled in excellent customer service and interpersonal relationships with varied populations, including strong listening, verbal, and written communication
Skilled using computer applications and enterprise systems, including the Microsoft Office suite
Ability to work effectively in a collaborative environment
Ability to think critically to effectively solve and communicate problems in a fast-paced environment where the demands for work are varied, and unpredictable in scope and volume
Ability to analyze data and provide sound recommendations based on policy, procedure, practice, and existing regulations
