Job Summary:
This role is responsible for managing the day-to-day operations and major administrative activities of the Office of the Vice Chancellor for Student Success.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
Essential Performance Requirements*
⦁ Serves as a generalist who performs complex administrative duties which include composing correspondence independently on a wide variety of matters, including material of a sensitive and confidential nature
⦁ Facilitates responsive, accurate, proactive, and collaborative communication with senior leadership and the entire college community (internal and external), and coordinates all communiques with the Director of Communication
⦁ Serves as the Vice Chancellor's “ear to the people” to forestall breakdowns in communication
⦁ Provides research-based analysis and reporting on administrative initiatives
⦁ Supports the development of all Vice Chancellor's office procedures; ensures alignment between college-wide procedures and District policy
⦁ Manages all budgetary and financial planning of the Office of the Vice Chancellor, including all expense management, budgeting, project/special initiative funding, and compliance in conjunction with appropriate financial policies
⦁ Interacts with business, industry, government, and community officials and stakeholders in the representation and development of strategic programs and initiatives in alignment with institutional priorities and goals
⦁ Provides leadership for research, planning, and evaluation activities to maximize the effectiveness of the Office of the Vice Chancellor
⦁ Organizes all gatherings inclusive of regular and committee meetings, retreats, receptions, and events as related to the Vice Chancellor's office
⦁ Assists in the optimization of the Vice Chancellor's schedule, including visibility and participation at college and community events and initiatives
⦁ Assists with the design and implementation of internal reports
General Supervision and Management
⦁ Provides leadership and oversight for departmental activities, including workforce planning, performance management, process improvement, budgeting, and resource allocation
⦁ Focuses on achieving departmental and organizational objectives through effective management of people, programs, and operations
⦁ Leads through supervisors and professional staff by establishing priorities, supporting accountability, and developing team performance
Service Excellence
⦁ Participates on behalf of the College in external community organizations and associations as assigned to support the essential performance requirements
⦁ Attends the workplace regularly, reports to work punctually, and follows a work schedule to keep up with the demands of the worksite
⦁ Completes all required training and professional development sessions sponsored through Tarrant County College (TCC)
⦁ Supports the mission, values, goals, and principles of the College
Supervision
Works under the supervision of the Vice Chancellor for Student Success
*Performs Other Related Tasks as Required

Required Minimum Qualifications:
⦁ Master’s degree
⦁ Five (5) years’ working experience related to the Essential Performance Requirements
⦁ Three (3) years of experience supervising direct reports, including assigning work, managing performance, coaching employees, and supporting employee development
Preferred Qualifications:
⦁ Doctoral degree
⦁ Current Project Management Certification
⦁ At least one (1) year’s working experience in research and education policy analysis
⦁ At least one (1) year’s working experience in project management
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
⦁ Skilled in delivering high-quality customer service and building effective interpersonal relationships, including strong listening, verbal, and written communication skills
⦁ Skilled in using computer applications and enterprise systems, including the Microsoft Office suite and the Microsoft 365 platform
⦁ Ability to perform and prioritize multiple tasks seamlessly ensuring accurate and timely completion, while exhibiting strong attention to detail and organization
⦁ Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team in collaborative environments, engaging with faculty, staff, and external stakeholders
⦁ Ability to identify routine issues and escalate non-standard problems using established procedures in a fast-paced work environment
⦁ Ability to review basic information and follow policies, procedures, and guidelines when completing assigned tasks
⦁ Ability to coordinate assigned work and communicate effectively with faculty and staff to support campus and departmental operations
⦁ Ability to maintain a high level of diplomacy and tact, ensuring confidentiality and discretion with sensitive and confidential information
⦁ Ability to delegate work appropriately to faculty and staff to meet College and campus deliverables
⦁ Ability to coordinate complex projects and meet deadlines
⦁ Ability to prepare presentations and speak effectively in various public forums and to use standard business and desktop publishing software

Work Environment
The work environment characteristics described here are representatives of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee occasionally works near moving mechanical parts and is occasionally exposed to risk of electrical shock. The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet.
