Job Summary:

Reporting to the Divisional Dean, the Assistant Divisional Dean will provide academic leadership for the campus and the Academic Affairs team. The position will provide leadership for creative, innovative, and successful strategies to ensure student success in all teaching modalities. Coordinates course/curriculum development and revision within the framework of TCC. The position provides leadership for a large number of full-time and adjunct faculty. In addition, they will foster collaboration across disciplines to promote faculty partnerships and deep learning through effective pedagogical practice, accelerated programs, competency-based education, and other proven pedagogical strategies.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

Essential Performance Requirements*
⦁ Assists with the development and the revision of curricula
⦁ Recommends campus course offerings and teaching assignments for each term
⦁ Promotes effective integration and use of technology in all aspects of teaching and learning
⦁ Assists Dean with evaluation of faculty performance
⦁ Interfaces with Dean, faculty, and staff to develop and execute enrollment management strategies to affect recruitment, retention and student success; provides guidance to department chairs in matters of teaching and learning
⦁ Represents the District and/or the campus at community or college meetings or events and participates in faculty and committee activities
⦁ Uses analytics and assessment to ensure operational effectiveness and student success
⦁ Participates in professional development activities

General Supervision and Management
⦁ Recruits, interviews, and recommends the appointment of highly qualified faculty and staff
⦁ Aids and promotes professional development among faculty and staff in duties such as teaching classes, conducting orientation programs, and scheduling events

Service Excellence
⦁ Participates on behalf of the College in external community organizations and associations
⦁ Attends the workplace regularly, reports to work punctually, and follows a work schedule to keep up with the demands of the worksite
⦁ Completes all required training and professional development sessions sponsored through the Tarrant County College (TCC) Institute
⦁ Supports the mission, values, goals, and principles of the College

Supervision
⦁ Works under the general supervision of the Divisional Dean

Required Minimum Qualifications:

⦁ Master’s degree with a major in one of the instructional areas within the academic division OR graduate coursework sufficient to teach within the division
⦁ Three (3) years of administrative experience in an educational setting, preferably community college
⦁ Three (3) years of teaching experience at the post-secondary level

Preferred Qualifications:

⦁ Earned academic or professional doctoral degree (Ph.D., Ed.D., or comparable), preferably in an allied health discipline
⦁ Current, unencumbered certification or license in the relevant allied health/health science field and at least two (2) years' clinical experience in the healthcare sector
⦁ At least one (1) year’s work experience in a comprehensive community college setting related to the Essential Performance Requirements
⦁ At least three (3) years' teaching experience in an Anesthesia Technology, Central Sterile Processing, Health Information Technology, Ophthalmic Technician, Physical Therapist Assistant, and/or Surgical Technology program
⦁ At least one (1) year's working experience in grant writing, grants management, or securing external funding to support academic, workforce development, or clinical training initiatives
⦁ At least one (1) year's working experience building and sustaining partnerships with healthcare providers, industry partners, and/or community organizations
⦁ At least one (1) year's working experience in academic leadership as serving as a program director, clinical/internship coordinator, or similar role

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

⦁ Knowledge of effective instructional and learning assessment methods
⦁ Knowledge of planning, program development, evaluation, and budgeting
⦁ Skilled with interpersonal and small group relationships and in conflict resolution
⦁ Skilled using word processing, spreadsheet, and presentation software
⦁ Skilled in excellent customer service and interpersonal relationships, including verbal and written communication
⦁ Skilled in public speaking to all levels of attendants, including executive and leadership to communicate different types of information
⦁ Ability to interact with students and staff at all levels in a fast-paced environment
⦁ Ability to align academic programs with workforce and healthcare industry needs, using data and stakeholder input to inform program design and improvement
