Job Summary:
Reporting to the Dean of Learning Commons, the Learning Commons Managing Associate-Supplemental Instruction oversees and manages the day-to-day operations of one (or more) section(s) of the Learning Commons (LC). The position ensures that the primary focus of all employees is customer service to maximize student success.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
Essential Performance Requirements*
⦁ Supports the strategic objectives of Directors and Dean of the Learning Commons
⦁ Creates and implements training for assigned employees
⦁ Designs and implements sound operational policies and procedures for the Learning Commons
⦁ Evaluates the effectiveness of operational policies and procedures
⦁ Recommends purchases and monitors expenditures for items suited for assigned area(s), including multiple learning labs
⦁ Develops instructional objectives, plans, and assessment tools for the area of responsibility
⦁ Maintains inventory records and accurate accountability for all supplies, materials, equipment, and software computer packages in multiple labs
⦁ Provides excellent customer service as primary contact for patrons of the Learning Commons
General Supervision and Management
Supervises and manages Learning Commons Associates and Senior Learning Commons Associates, as well as other employees in the assigned area(s)
Service Excellence
⦁ Participates on behalf of the College in external community organizations and associations
⦁ Attends the workplace regularly, reports to work punctually, and follows a work schedule to keep up with the demands of the worksite
⦁ Completes all required training and professional development sessions sponsored through the Tarrant County College (TCC) Institute
⦁ Supports the mission, values, goals, and principles of the College
Supervision
Works under the general supervision of the Dean of Learning Commons

Required Minimum Qualifications:
⦁ Bachelor's degree
⦁ Three (3) years of working experience related to the Essential Performance Requirements
⦁ One (1) year experience supervising (e.g., managing, evaluating the performance of others)
Preferred Qualifications:
⦁ Master's degree
⦁ At least one (1) year's working experience developing educational promotional materials
⦁ At least one (1) year's working experience planning, publicizing, and implementing programs
⦁ At least two (2) year's working experience in Higher Education related to the Essential Performance Requirements
⦁ At least two (2) year's working experience with student employees or student leaders
⦁ At least two (2) year's working experience building and maintaining collaborative relationships with faculty or academic departments
⦁ At least one (1) year's working experience managing or leading a Supplemental Instruction program
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
⦁ Skilled in excellent customer service and interpersonal relationships including strong listening, verbal, and written communication
⦁ Ability to work effectively in a collaborative environment
⦁ Ability to think critically to effectively solve and communicate problems in a fast-paced environment where the demands for work are varied, and unpredictable in scope and volume
⦁ Ability to analyze data and provide sound recommendations based on policy, procedure, practice, and existing regulations
⦁ Ability to delegate work appropriately to faculty and staff to meet College and campus deliverables
⦁ Ability to use computer applications and enterprise systems, including proficiency with word processing, spreadsheet, and presentation software
