Compensation Details:  Starting Pay - $18.15

Work Hours: Summer Academy Dates: June 1 to July 31. Monday - Thursday, hours varying between 8:00am - 4:00pm

Remote Eligible: This position is not eligible for remote work

Special Instructions to Applicant: This is a grant-funded position. Continued employment in this position is contingent upon the renewal of grant funding or the position being institutionalized at the conclusion of the grant.

Job Summary:

The Student Development Coordinator TRIO - Upward Bound is responsible for supervising and coordinating service learning and community engagement efforts in support of the Upward Bound program. This position creates and implements leadership programs and supervises and coordinates recruitment for student organizations. This position is expected to have a high level of TRIO Program-specific knowledge.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

Essential Performance Requirements*
⦁ Creates club and organization packets for protocol
⦁ Provides guidance to student organizations
⦁ Assists with overall recruitment and marketing
⦁ Trains and develops student leaders
⦁ Develops, promotes, and implements service projects
⦁ Assists faculty and students in developing service learning projects
⦁ Acts as a liaison between faculty, students, and community agencies
⦁ Recruits organizations to partner with the college in service projects
⦁ Orientates students in service learning
⦁ Participates in community outreach programs
⦁ Coordinates and provides guidance to student leadership of various clubs and organizations
⦁ Acts as a liaison between students and university representatives
⦁ Coordinates major festivals that bring in local businesses as well as universities
⦁ Schedules tours and tour guides for both high schools and orientation tours

Service Excellence
⦁ Participates on behalf of the College in external community organizations and associations as assigned to support the essential performance requirements
⦁ Attends the workplace regularly, reports to work punctually, and follows a work schedule to keep up with the demands of the worksite
⦁ Completes all required training and professional development sessions sponsored through Tarrant County College (TCC)
⦁ Supports the mission, values, goals, and principles of the College

Supervision
Works under the general supervision of the Coordinator of TRIO, Upward Bound

Required Minimum Qualifications:

⦁ Associate's degree or 60 college hours
⦁ One (1) year working experience related to the Essential Performance Requirements

Preferred Qualifications:

⦁ At least one (1) completed course in the specialized field or equivalent knowledge and experience
⦁ At least one year's working experience planning, publicizing and implementing programs

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

⦁ Knowledge of computerized systems, including word processing, spreadsheet, and presentation software
⦁ Knowledge of student issues and how they affect a student's participation in campus activities
⦁ Skilled in customer service and interpersonal relationships
⦁ Skilled in leadership
⦁ Ability to enthusiastically communicate with and relate to the community college student
