Job Summary:

Reporting to the Executive Director of the Foundation, the Specialist, Donor Relations and Planned Giving is responsible for leading donor engagement and fundraising efforts to secure both current and planned gifts in support of Tarrant County College. The position involves managing a portfolio of individual and retiree donors, guiding strategic giving initiatives, and overseeing donor cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship activities. The Specialist also coordinates planned giving programs, collaborates with internal and external partners, and supports donor events and communications to advance philanthropic goals.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

Essential Performance Requirements*
⦁ Cultivates relationships with individual and major gift donors through tailored engagement strategies such as personal meetings, appeals, and campus visits
⦁ Develops and executes comprehensive solicitation plans to secure annual and long-term gifts, aligning efforts with organizational fundraising goals
⦁ Creates persuasive proposals, grant applications, and donor-facing materials that communicate impact and inspire philanthropic investment
⦁ Coordinates with senior leadership, development colleagues, and board members to ensure a unified and strategic approach to donor cultivation and solicitation
⦁ Implements donor stewardship and recognition strategies, including customized outreach and loyalty-building initiatives to enhance donor retention
⦁ Oversees execution of thank-you calls, personalized correspondence, and recognition programs that reinforce donor appreciation and commitment
⦁ Maintains accurate and current donor records using a tracking and moves management system to support strategic engagement and reporting
⦁ Analyzes fundraising performance, monitors progress toward goals, and prepares reports to inform decision-making and refine development strategies
⦁ Collaborates with internal departments and external professionals, including legal, finance, and estate planners, to facilitate and administer planned gifts
⦁ Designs and manages planned giving programs, including marketing campaigns, donor consultations, and administration of complex gifts such as trusts and bequests

⦁ Participates on behalf of the College in external community organizations and associations as assigned to support the essential performance requirements
⦁ Attends the workplace regularly, reports to work punctually, and follows a work schedule to keep up with the demands of the worksite
⦁ Completes all required training and professional development sessions sponsored through Tarrant ⦁ County College (TCC)
⦁ Supports the mission, values, goals, and principles of the College

Supervision
Works under the general supervision of the Executive Director of the Foundation

Required Minimum Qualifications:

⦁ Bachelor’s degree
⦁ Three (3) years’ working experience related to the Essential Performance Requirements

Preferred Qualifications:

⦁ Master’s degree
⦁ At least 1 (one) year’s working experience in higher education fundraising

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

⦁ Knowledge of estate planning, tax laws, and charitable giving vehicles
⦁ Knowledge of donor engagement strategies, fundraising principles, and stewardship practices
⦁ Knowledge of communication principles and donor-centered messaging
⦁ Skilled in relationship-building and interpersonal communication, especially with older adults
⦁ Skilled in using donor databases, planned giving software, and tracking systems
⦁ Skilled in developing and executing fundraising campaigns and donor events
⦁ Ability to collaborate across departments and with external professionals to facilitate complex gifts
⦁ Ability to analyze fundraising performance and adapt strategies to meet philanthropic goals
