Job Summary:
Reporting to the Chief Information Officer, the District Director of IT Infrastructure leads the planning, implementation, and management of enterprise-level IT services, including data centers, networks, telecommunications, servers, cloud and virtual environments, and database administration. The role ensures reliable, scalable, and secure delivery of both local and cloud-based infrastructure, aligning with institutional goals. As a key member of the IT leadership team, the District Director contributes to strategic planning and fosters a culture of customer service, collaboration, change management, and security best practices.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
Essential Performance Requirements*
Serves as a key member of the IT leadership team to define strategy, approve technology acquisitions, and guide process development and change management
Leads the full lifecycle and strategic direction of IT infrastructure services in alignment with institutional goals and standards
Provides secure, stable, and sustainable infrastructure solutions that support the College’s mission
Develops, tracks, and analyzes performance metrics to improve service effectiveness and efficiency
Promotes IT Guiding Objectives: exceeding customer expectations, achieving operational excellence, and fostering One IT / One College collaboration
Builds and maintains relationships with internal customers, external vendors, and strategic partners
Monitors emerging infrastructure technologies, standards, and best practices
Ensures compliance with cybersecurity policies, data privacy regulations, and industry standards
Prepares reports and presentations for executive leadership on infrastructure status, risks, and opportunities
Plays a lead role in disaster recovery planning and participates in business continuity initiatives
General Supervision and Management
Manages a department of technical staff, including managers and directors, responsible for network operations, server administration, cloud platforms, and telecommunications
Develops and manages operating and capital budgets
Service Excellence
Participates on behalf of the College in external community organizations and associations as assigned to support the essential performance requirements
Attends the workplace regularly, reports to work punctually, and follows a work schedule to keep up with the demands of the worksite
Completes all required training and professional development sessions sponsored through Tarrant County College (TCC)
Supports the mission, values, goals, and principles of the College
Supervision
Works under the general supervision of the Chief Information Officer

Required Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in business or a related technical field
Seven (7) years’ progressive working experience in IT infrastructure management, including working with cloud platforms (e.g., Azure, AWS), virtualization, and enterprise networking, and managing projects
Three (3) years' working experience supervising (e.g., managing, evaluating the performance of others)
Three (3) years' working experience developing and managing operating and capital budgets
Preferred Qualifications:
Master’s degree in business or a related technical field
Certified as Cisco (CCNA/CCNP), Microsoft Azure, or AWS
At least two (2) year’s working experience in higher education or public sector environments
At least two (2) year’s working experience with Texas Administrative Code 202.70-77
At least one (1) year’s working experience using ITIL or other service management frameworks
At least two (2) year’s working experience leading large-scale infrastructure projects, including planning, execution, and stakeholder engagement
At least two (2) year’s working experience implementing network and infrastructure performance monitoring.

Skilled in applying strategic planning methods that support innovation and continuous improvement
