Job Summary:
This role is responsible for leadership in planning, organizing, administering, and evaluating non-credit instruction and services for the campus. The Division of Community Education is comprised of two institutes: Career and College Preparation, and Personal Enrichment.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
Essential Performance Requirements*
⦁ Promotes, leads, and manages all aspects of day-to-day operations associated with community education programs and services, including the selection, training, and supervision of faculty, staff, and student employees
⦁ Builds collaborative relationships with other deans and faculty to ensure the alignment of college preparation courses with academic program offerings
⦁ Develops, implements, and assesses strategies to improve the quality and effectiveness of non-credit programs and services
⦁ Works with credit programs and the educational outreach department to provide a seamless transition from non-credit courses to credit programs
⦁ Cultivates expanded revenue opportunities for the division
⦁ Assesses the needs of the community to identify educational, civic, recreational, and cultural opportunities for service
⦁ Oversees the development, administration, delivery and assessment of programs and services provided in response to identified needs
⦁ Develops collaborative partnership with community leaders and organization to maintain and manage the provided learning opportunities
⦁ Serves as an advocate and community resource
⦁ Keeps up to date on trends and developments in community engagement that relates to the communities served
⦁ Recruits, mentors, and manages the performance of qualified staff
⦁ Employs qualified instructors with the knowledge or skills specific to their topic of instruction
⦁ Maintains strong working relationships with College academic faculty and leaders
⦁ Confers and plans with student recruitment staff to implement activities that effectively support the College's recruitment efforts
⦁ Accumulates and analyzes data and develops reports demonstrating the effectiveness of program and services provided
General Supervision and Management
⦁ Provides leadership and oversight for departmental activities, including workforce planning, performance management, process improvement, budgeting, and resource allocation
⦁ Focuses on achieving departmental and organizational objectives through effective management of people, programs, and operations
⦁ Leads through supervisors and professional staff by establishing priorities, supporting accountability, and developing team performance

Service Excellence
⦁ Participates on behalf of the College in external community organizations and associations as assigned to support the essential performance requirements
⦁ Attends the workplace regularly, reports to work punctually, and follows a work schedule to keep up with the demands of the worksite
⦁ Completes all required training and professional development sessions sponsored through Tarrant County College (TCC)
⦁ Supports the mission, values, goals, and principles of the College

Works under the general supervision of Vice President of Academic Affairs

Required Minimum Qualifications:
⦁ Master's degree
⦁ Six (6) years of progressive and relevant experience in a higher education or non-profit organization
⦁ Three (3) years of experience supervising employees (e.g., managing and evaluating performance of others)
Preferred Qualifications:
⦁ Doctoral degree in education, adult and continuing education, adult, professional and community education, educational leadership, higher education administration, business administration, organizational leadership, public administration, or a closely related field
⦁ Three (3) or more years of experience developing, launching, expanding, or managing continuing education, community education, lifelong learning, adult education, personal enrichment, or other non-credit educational programs
⦁ Three (3) or more years of experience managing revenue-generating, fee-based, contract-funded, grant-funded, or self-supporting educational programs or services, including responsibility for financial performance or sustainability
⦁ Three (3) or more years of experience developing or overseeing non-credit programs serving multiple populations across the lifespan, including school-age children, working adults, older adults, or other community learners
⦁ At least one (1) year of experience using enrollment data, market research, community needs assessments, financial performance, participant feedback, or other quantitative information to make decisions regarding the development, expansion, redesign, pricing, or discontinuation of programs
⦁ At least one (1) year of experience developing or implementing marketing, outreach, or enrollment strategies for fee-based, continuing education, community education, or other non-credit programs
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
⦁ Skilled in delivering high-quality customer service and building effective interpersonal relationships, including strong listening, verbal, and written communication skills
⦁ Skilled in using computer applications and enterprise systems, including the Microsoft Office suite and the Microsoft 365 platform
⦁ Ability to perform and prioritize multiple tasks seamlessly ensuring accurate and timely completion, while exhibiting strong attention to detail and organization
⦁ Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team in collaborative environments, engaging with faculty, staff, and external stakeholders
⦁ Ability to identify routine issues and escalate non-standard problems using established procedures in a fast-paced work environment
⦁ Ability to review basic information and follow policies, procedures, and guidelines when completing assigned tasks
⦁ Ability to coordinate assigned work and communicate effectively with faculty and staff to support campus and departmental operations
⦁ Ability to maintain a high level of diplomacy and tact, ensuring confidentiality and discretion with sensitive and confidential information
