Work Hours: Flexibility is required as part-time work schedules may vary based on individual campus/departmental needs including evenings and weekends. Up to 19.5 hours per week, typically scheduled over 2–3 days.
Weekday Position: Monday–Friday; approximately 3 days per week, 6 hours per day.
Evening/Weekend Position: One weekday evening (3–4 hours) plus Saturday and Sunday (approximately 7–8 hours per day).
Remote Eligible: This position is not eligible for remote work
Special Instructions to Applicant: This is a part-time position, with a maximum of 19.5 hrs. per week
Job Summary:
This role is responsible for working with students in simulation laboratory classes, maintaining equipment as well as preparing materials and providing lab setups.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
Essential Performance Requirements*
⦁ Consults with faculty laboratory coordinator to determine equipment purchase priorities based on budget allowances, condition of existing equipment, and scheduled laboratory activities
⦁ Prepares and puts in place equipment scheduled for use during laboratory teaching sessions
⦁ Cleans room and equipment, restocks supplies, and prepares the facility for the next class
⦁ Demonstrates care and use of equipment
⦁ Provides basic instructions to students and faculty on the proper use and care of laboratory equipment following established procedures
⦁ Performs routine troubleshooting and minor maintenance of laboratory and simulation equipment; escalates complex issues to the Coordinator or appropriate vendor
⦁ Provides feedback regarding equipment performance and operational needs to the Coordinator
⦁ Maintains reference materials used by students
⦁ Maintains and prepares classrooms, materials and apparatuses commonly used in healthcare simulation laboratories
⦁ Inventories, orders and checks in materials and supplies and ensures that good safety, housekeeping and security practices are adhered to at all times
⦁ Assists with registration

⦁ Participates on behalf of the College in external community organizations and associations as assigned to support the essential performance requirements
⦁ Attends the workplace regularly, reports to work punctually, and follows a work schedule to keep up with the demands of the worksite
⦁ Completes all required training and professional development sessions sponsored through Tarrant County College (TCC)
⦁ Supports the mission, values, goals, and principles of the College

Works under the supervision of the assigned campus leader

Required Minimum Qualifications:
⦁ High School diploma or General Equivalency Diploma (GED) and three (3) years’ working experience related to the Essential Performance; or any equivalent combination of education and work-related experience
Preferred Qualifications:
⦁ At least one (1) year’s working experience supporting instructional laboratories in Healthcare or science-based academic settings
⦁ At least one (1) year’s working with simulation or skills-based training equipment, including manikins and related technologies
⦁ At least one (1) year’s working experience in Healthcare
⦁ Successful completion of an accredited Medical terminology course (AAPC) or a course offered with simulation or skills-based training equipment, including manikins and related technologies
⦁ Allied Health certification such as Certified Nursing Assistant, Medical Assistant, Patient Care Technician.
⦁ Associate’s degree in Allied Health or Nursing program
⦁ Current Healthcare Simulation Operations Specialist (CHSOS)
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
⦁ Ability to assist students and users in a laboratory setting and to work with faculty and staff in planning, organizing, and maintaining the laboratory for the benefit of all
⦁ Skilled in strong organizational skills
⦁ Skilled in delivering high-quality customer service and building effective interpersonal relationships, including strong listening, verbal, and written communication skills
⦁ Skilled using computerized applications and enterprise systems, including word processing, spreadsheet, and presentation software

While performing the duties of this job, the employee occasionally works near moving mechanical parts and is occasionally exposed to risk of electrical shock. The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet.
