Job Summary:
This position provides architectural leadership for technology solutions that support the student experience across Tarrant County College (TCC). This role leads the analysis, design, integration, and optimization of student-facing systems and business processes throughout the student lifecycle, ensuring alignment with institutional goals, operational needs, and technology standards. Working collaboratively across Information Technology, Student Affairs, Academic Affairs, and Administrative Services, the position translates business requirements into scalable system designs, guides solution implementation, and promotes the effective use of enterprise applications to enhance service delivery, data integrity, and the student experience.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
Essential Performance Requirements*
⦁ Leads the analysis, design, and optimization of student lifecycle business processes and technology solutions, translating institutional needs into scalable system architectures
⦁ Provides architectural guidance for the implementation, enhancement, and integration of student systems, ensuring alignment with College priorities, technology standards, and best practices
⦁ Collaborates with stakeholders across Information Technology, Student Affairs, Academic Affairs, and Administrative Services to define requirements, evaluate solutions, and drive enterprise-wide improvements
⦁ Leads cross-functional initiatives and project teams to implement system and process changes that improve operational efficiency, service delivery, and the student experience
⦁ Establishes and oversees testing, validation, and quality assurance activities for system enhancements, upgrades, integrations, and new technology implementations
⦁ Develops and maintains system documentation, process standards, training materials, and communications to support effective adoption and ongoing governance of student systems
⦁ Monitors regulatory, policy, and operational changes impacting student administration systems and advises leadership on associated system, process, and compliance requirements
⦁ Cultivates strategic partnerships with vendors, technology teams, and institutional stakeholders to gather feedback, identify opportunities for innovation, and advance the student systems roadmap
General Supervision and Management
⦁ Provides leadership and oversight for departmental activities, including workforce planning, performance management, process improvement, budgeting, and resource allocation
⦁ Focuses on achieving departmental and organizational objectives through effective management of people, programs, and operations
⦁ Leads through supervisors and professional staff by establishing priorities, supporting accountability, and developing team performance
Service Excellence
⦁ Participates on behalf of the College in external community organizations and associations as assigned to support the essential performance requirements
⦁ Attends the workplace regularly, reports to work punctually, and follows a work schedule to keep up with the demands of the worksite
⦁ Completes all required training and professional development sessions sponsored through Tarrant County College (TCC)
⦁ Supports the mission, values, goals, and principles of the College

Works under the supervision of the assigned department leader

Required Minimum Qualifications:
⦁ Bachelor’s degree and seven (7) years’ working experience related to the Essential Performance Requirements; or any equivalent combination of education and work-related experience
⦁ Two (2) years of experience supervising direct reports, including assigning work, managing performance, coaching employees, and supporting employee development
Preferred Qualifications:
⦁ Master’s degree
⦁ At least one (1) years’ working experience leading the design, implementation, and optimization of business processes and technology solutions utilizing Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP), Student Information Systems (SIS), or Customer Relationship Management (CRM) systems
⦁ At least one (1) year’s working experience providing technical leadership for ERP or CRM implementations within large, complex, multi-campus higher education environments
⦁ At least one (1) year’s working experience designing and evaluating solutions that address security, privacy, compliance, and governance requirements impacting Student Information Systems (SIS)
⦁ At least one (1) year’s working experience overseeing testing strategies and quality assurance activities for system enhancements, integrations, upgrades, and defect remediation
⦁ At least one (1) year’s working experience analyzing complex and sensitive data to identify trends, assess business needs, and inform system architecture and process improvement decisions
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
⦁ Knowledge of problem management, root cause analysis, and issue resolution practices, with the ability to diagnose and resolve complex system and user-related issues
⦁ Knowledge of the higher education environment, including emerging trends, regulatory considerations, and challenges affecting student services, enrollment management, and institutional operations
⦁ Knowledge of student lifecycle processes, including recruiting, admissions, registration, records, and related administrative procedures and best practices
⦁ Knowledge of Student Information Systems (SIS), Customer Relationship Management (CRM) platforms, and related technologies supporting the student lifecycle, including system integrations, data structures, and student record architecture
⦁ Skilled in delivering high-quality customer service and building effective interpersonal relationships, including strong listening, verbal, and written communication skills
⦁ Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team in collaborative environments, engaging with faculty, staff, and external stakeholders
⦁ Ability to think critically to effectively solve and communicate problems in a fast-paced environment where the demands for work are varied, and unpredictable in scope and volume
⦁ Ability to analyze data and provide sound recommendations based on policy, procedure, practice, and existing regulations
⦁ Ability to use computer applications and enterprise systems, including the Microsoft Office suite and the Microsoft 365 platform
